The Blessings of Justification

Besides receiving the joy of justification we gain from Christ's redemption, we receive seven other blessings.

Abraham the Father of Faith

Abraham is known as the Father of Faith because of his great faith in God. In this message, we look at how Abraham demonstrated his faith and what we can learn from his example. Based on the fourth chapter of the Book of Romans.

Taking the Gloves Off

In chapters one and two of Romans, Paul has laid out the guilt of the Gentiles and the Jews, respectively. Now he levels the charge against all people. He shares that all are equally guilty of sinning against God and that the solution is the same for every person. We must accept the work of Jesus on our behalf by faith. It is faith in Christ that makes us right with God, something our works, whether under the law or apart from the law, cannot do.

What Goes Around Comes Around

We continue our sermon series in the Book of Romans. Today's message comes from Romans 2-3:8. In chapter one, Paul addressed the sin and guilt of the Gentiles. Now he turns his attention to the Jews in Rome. Paul reminds the Jews that though they were a special people blessed and set apart by God, they were still guilty of sin and, in that regard, they were no better than the Gentiles, and in some ways, they were more guilty. Join us as we break down Paul's words to the Jews living in Rome.

Stepping Away from God

A Fresh Start

Lamentation 3:23 reminds us that God's mercy and compassion is new everyday, that means that each new day is or can be a fresh start for us. At the beginning of a new year our mind often thinks about what we might like to do different in the coming year. God is ready to do a new work in us anytime we will yield ourselves to His will. This Sunday, we complete our Advent series on The Gifts of Christmas with this last sermon, The Gift of Jesus. Christmas is all about gift-giving and demonstrating love to those closest to us. That's what God did for us so many years ago. He gave the gift the world needs: He gave His Son, Jesus Christ. But a gift is not a gift if it isn't opened and used in our lives.
