Does Jesus Care When Parenting is Hard

Parenting a child can have moments of great joy, but anyone who has been or is a parent knows how tough it is too. There are many books available on parenting and advice is not hard to come by but it usually doesn't exactly relate to my situation. Humans are basic creatures on one hand. They need food and shelter but they are also very complex and each one has unique traits. This makes it hard to know exactly what to do in each and every situation. Jesus understands this and God's word has several examples we can read. Today we begin with Deuteronomy 6:1-10 and discuss the 'Shema' and then we look at some examples of parents in the Bible who found parenting anything but easy.

Does Jesus Care About my Loneliness and Depression

All of us feel lonely and depressed from time to time. Some struggle with persistent depression. Is Jesus even aware of the struggle we feel in these areas? Jesus certainly knows and cares when you're feeling lonely and depressed. Listen to today's message and learn how God loves you and cares for you.

Does Jesus Care When I Feel Unloved and Unlovely

Often in life we have experiences when we feel nobody loves us and we are ugly. Does Jesus Care about this? Using the Book of Ruth, chapter one we learn that God is very much concerned when we have these feelings.

Greater Vision

When we face challenges in life we typically use our wisdom, knowledge, and experience to determine how to face the challenge. That is the right response, however, sometimes God steps in and gives us a vision that contradicts what we believe to be the best course of action. When God shows us His mission or vision for our life we need to set aside what we think we know and do what God commands. Listen today as we look at the life of Abraham when he faced a very real crisis in his life. We'll read from Genesis 15:1-6, Matthew 9:34-37, Matthew 28:19,20. Acts 1:8, and John 4:35 to learn Christ vision for our lives.

Limiting God

We worship the Almighty Creator of everything. He is all-knowing, all-present, and all powerful yet we can limit His role in our life. Are we more powerful than He, do we know more are we wiser? Listen and hear how we limit God's role in our lives.

Hold On to the Past but, Don’t Let the Past Hold On to You

Our past can be of great help and it can be a stumbling block that hobbles our forward progress. We are encouraged to forget the past but to also remember the past. How do we find the balance? How do we use the past as a learning tool? How do we move on? The Apostle Paul had a terrible past to overcome. How did he not let his past reduce him to a quivering shell of a human? How did he use his past to propel him to greatness? Today's sermon looks at Philippians 3:7-14 to unravel this mystery.
