Why Should I Care About the Christ

There has always been apathy and ambivalence regarding Jesus Christ, but for those of us alive today who have lived for several decades, it seems as if the apathy and ambivalence are getting worse. People just don't care about faith in God. A question they may ask or have on their mind is, Why should I care about Jesus Christ? After all, if he were a real person, he's just a good man who said and did some good things. I'm a good person, too. In this message from Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, we attempt to answer the question as to why anyone and everyone should care about Jesus Christ, what he did, or what he said.

Christ's Words from the Cross

As we enter the Easter season we pause to remember Jesus' last words from the cross. Each of the seven sayings gives us insight into our Lord and Savior.

A Yoke Isn't Meant for One

Jesus bids us to cast our cares and burdens on Him. Then He says to take on His yoke. But why is Jesus' yoke better? That's what we explore in this message.

Come and See

When Jesus began His earthly ministry it started with a simple,, "Come and See." Then the disciples began telling others, "Come and See." We often overinflate what we think Jesus is asking us to do. He doesn't ask us to condemn people, He doesn't ask us to save people, He merely asks us to lead people to Him by saying, "Come and See." The root of what we are expected to do today is tell people to come and see Jesus because when they do learning who Jesus is will convert all but the hardest soul.

The Eternal Jesus

We all love Jesus! He is a friend who is "closer than a brother." He loves us, is merciful and gracious to us, and cares about our every need. He is such a good friend that it is easy to forget that He is fully God as well and reserves, not to mention requires, full obedience and devotion. He is patient and kind but that doesn't mean we don't have to honor and respect Him. In this message, we look at John chapter one to remind us that Jesus is fully God and that He should be respected and honored as the supreme God that He is.

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat_Foundation

Jesus taught us that we are wise if we build our lives upon His teachings. A good foundation is critically important for a sturdy, stable, safe building. We also need a sure foundation for our lives. Jesus is that sure foundation. Jesus also taught us the difference in little faith, good faith, and great faith. As we grow in the Lord, and deepen our foundation in Him, our faith is built up wider and higher. Listen and watch as we look at Matthew 7:24-40 and the parable of the Wise and Foolish Builder.

Church Construction - God's Way

When Jesus walked on the earth, one of His many actions was establishing the New Testament church. (Matthew 16:18) Jesus went further to describe how this church should be constructed. Watch and listen as we delve into God's word to learn the principles upon which the New Testament church is founded.

Maintaining Peace in the Fellowship

Life is full of conflict. Where there are humans there is conflict. Not all conflict is bad. Often good comes from conflict but when individuals don't agree and can't get along, especially Christians, it's especially sad. Jesus established the church to be His evangelistic arm in the world. when the church is in turmoil that evangelistic work is hindered. In Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus gives us instructions about how to resolve conflict.

Come to the Table

One of the rites we practice in Christian churches, of all denominations, is Communion or the Lord's Supper. Often this practice becomes trivial or unimportant to us, but we should take great joy in its practice because Jesus wants you to come share at the table with Him. There's no finer place to be. Watch and listen as we look at 1 Corinthians 11:23-32 and attempt to regain joy in this practice.

What Does Love Look Like?

Jesus tells us that we must love one another but what does or should that love look like? Is it romantic love? We can learn what He expects from us by looking at how He loved people.
