The Babe is Promised

The baby Messiah's coming is foretold. At a time when the land of Israel was suffering great darkness of oppression and sinfulness, a Messiah's coming was foretold. In a land of darkness, a land without hope, hope was offered in the person of Jesus Christ. Listen as we read Isaiah 9:2-7 and learn of the great hope promised to the Israelis and to us.

The Art of Thankfulness

On this Sunday before Thanksgiving 2024, we pause to look at how to have a heart of thankfulness and gratitude. Join us as we look at Luke 7:11-17 and other verses to see what God's word says about being thankful.

Taking the Gospel to Your County

This past Sunday, November 17, 2024, we were honored to have Dr. Todd Gray, Executive Director of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, bring the message to our morning worship service. The title of his sermon is "Taking the Gospel to Your County" and he used Acts 16:6-17 for his scripture reference.

Watch the Way not the Waves

We face many storms, and when we do they consume our focus. That is a normal reaction. Because of the particular storm, we may reduce other activities saddly, that includes cutting off church attendance. If we have money problems we will reduce or stop our tithe to the church. When we reduce our church activities including giving to God's work through the church, we are shortchanging ourselves. God is the only one who has the power to effect change. In our message today, we look at this behavior and we learn why we should stay the course with God.

Week 10 - Amos chapter 3

This is from week 10 of our Wednesday night Mid-Week Prayer and Bible Study. Tonight's lesson from the Book of Amos chapter three talked about God's Call and what that entails.

Out-Giving God

Why do we shortchange God when we're pressed for time or money? Is it because we give more than He does, so we figure He owes us? Are we doing more than He has done or is doing? Watch and listen as we examine scripture to see what God has done for us and how we rob Him when we withhold our time and money. Many scriptures are used but primarily Malachi 3:10-12 and Luke 6:37,38 form the foundation of this message.

Beware the Dark Side

Halloween is a fun time with costumes and candy, but we should remember there is also a lot regarding death and horror too. God warned His people to stay as far away as possible from things related to Halloween that are also out there as well. In Deuteronomy 18 God instructs His people to not engage with the pagan religions.

Empowered for Impact

The presence of the Holy Spirit in Christians has a positive impact on every area of our lives and the world. Jesus taught that we are the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world." One way Christians can impact our world is to exercise their right to vote. Watch and listen as we see what Jesus has to say about our impact on the world and how we should live as citizens.

Navigating Life - Faith First

Life consists of one decision after another. Some are easy and make little impact, others can change our lives forever for better or worse. How do we make good decisions? We line up the lights in our lives for the straight path to the solution. Join us as we look at Romans 12:1-3 and Acts 2:1-4 to learn what those lights are.

This Sunday we ordain two women of our church into the diaconate. We begin with a look at the times God called women to ministry in the Bible, starting with Deborah, one of the Judges of Israel in God's Theocracy. Then we look at the New Testament references concerning Phoebe. Phoebe was described as a deacon in the Book of Romans. Finally, we end the service with the charge and the Laying on of Hands.
